FAQs
Find solutions, tips, and more to enhance your personal EV charging experience.
When an apartment offers only public charging stations, residents must compete for a limited number of spots. Residents not moving their EVs, or parking and not charging, are frustrating. Studies show that very little congestion is needed for residents to look for alternatives. Personal EV Charging ensures that each resident has a dedicated charger, eliminating the need to wait for a spot to open up.
Our approach is flexible to meet the needs of your community. Octochi can cover the installation costs and provide the service to residents at a competitive rate. Or, the community can choose to pay for the installation and service, and residents pay for the electricity they use. We can work with you to find the best solution for your community.
Our hardware is uniquely designed to be cost-effective. We use a single circuit to power multiple ports, reducing the cost of installation. Our software is designed to optimize the use of the available power, ensuring that the community can support more EVs with fewer power upgrades. Our software also uses AI to predict when EVs will need to charge, allowing us to optimize the use of the available power.
Multifamily housing offers unique opportunities to reduce the cost of EV charging for residents, and also unique challenges in the distance between parking spots and power panels and the cost of power ups. Octochi's hardware is designed to address these challenges, reducing the cost of installation and power upgrades.
Day to day, the Octocharger does not require a network connection. The Octocharger only requires a network connection for updates and to report usage data. If the Network connection is lost, the Octocharger will continue to operate as normal.
